Hayward City Councilmember Olden Henson Endorses Nadia Lockyer

Endorsement Signals Strong Momentum for Lockyer in Days Leading up to Election

Hayward, CA - The Nadia Lockyer for Supervisor campaign announced today that Hayward City Councilmember Olden Henson has endorsed Nadia Lockyer in her bid for the District 2 seat on the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.

"I am proud to endorse Nadia Lockyer for Supervisor," said Hayward City Councilmember Olden Henson. "With the challenges facing our community in the months and years ahead, Nadia Lockyer's leadership and record of achievement is exactly what we need. Nadia's experience in making government work for the citizens of Alameda County makes her the best choice to represent the people of District 2 on the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, and I look forward to working with her when she is elected," added Henson.

"I am truly honored to have the support of Councilmember Olden Henson," said Nadia Lockyer. "As Alameda County Supervisor, I will work hard to ensure that the citizens of District 2 have access to vital programs and services that are necessary to keep our families healthy and make our communities safer," Lockyer added.
 
Lockyer is a county manager who currently serves as the Executive Director of the Alameda County Family Justice Center, a one-stop service delivery center comprised of multiple public, non-profit, and government agencies with the single mission of providing easily accessible and coordinated services to victims of domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, and sexual assault and exploitation. Prior to her current position as Executive Director of the ACFJC, Nadia practiced law representing adult victims of childhood sexual and physical abuse.
 
Lockyer, a Democrat, has been endorsed by various organizations and state and local leaders, including the Alameda Labor Council, AFL-CIO, SEIU Local 1021, Deputy Sheriffs' Association, The Alameda County Democratic Party, Attorney General Jerry Brown, Sen. Art Torres (Ret.), Assemblymember Mary Hayashi, Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty, and Hayward City Councilmember Bill Quirk.
 
Lockyer is running for the District 2 seat of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, which represents parts of Hayward, Newark, Union City, Fremont, and Sunol. The election will be held on June 8th, 2010.
